Ski Trip and Lock-In February 18th & 19th

If you are going to be attending the ski trip please have forms filled out and given to Tim Hasko by January 29th.  We will be going to Wilmot Moutain after which we will return to the church for dinner, devotions, and a lock-in with a youth ministry team from Concordia University, WI.  Wilmot also has tubing this year. (note-an additional medical release is required for tubing) Cost will vary depending on if you want to ski, snowboard, or tube; if you want to wear a helmet (recommended); and if you have your own equipment.  Volunteers are needed for drivers, dinner on Saturday, breakfast on Sunday, and chaperoning.  Come one, come all, it will be SUPERFUN!

District Youth Gathering - New Jersey - July 5-12

The 2010 District Youth Gathering was held this summer in New Jersey.  Many of our youth journeyed by bus with a stop first in New York City.  We split into two groups to explore the city with many exciting things seen by both groups, including: Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Grand Central Terminal, St. Patrick's Cathedral, FAO Schwarz, and many other sights.  On day 2 we traveled to Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey, home of Buddy and the show "Cake Boss."  We even got to see Buddy!  The following days were spent with they youth of other congregations enjoying enriching and uplifting activities.  We had servant events including most of our youth serving at the largest food pantry on the Eastern seaboard.  We also took a ferry ride around Manhattan and saw the statue of liberty lit by an amazing sunset.  We got to participate in a Bunco tournament and learned who was the most competitive of our group!  We even made a trip to the Jersey Shore (not the one on TV, thank goodness) and spent a wonderful day on the beach and boardwalk.  This was all capped off by a long bus ride with two fabulous drivers. All in all the trip was incredible.

Upcoming events:

February 1st: Planning meeting.  All youth and adults invited to help plan future events.

March 17th: Bunco Tournament: Loads of fun!
