Pastor Jacob to Preach at Pentecost Lutheran (Sunday, July 20th -- 9:00 AM) Pastor Jacob will preach lead his first Sunday worship service at Pentecost Lutheran Church! Pastor Jacob will most likely lead Saturday worship the same weekend. Help fill the pews and make Pastor Jacob feel welcome! Spirit Wear 2008 -- Orders Now Being Taken (Through July 29th) As a result of several recent requests, we will be taking additional orders for Spirit Wear for the 2008 Summer! Please check out additional detail on our Spirit Wear page! Python Softball Returns for Third Season (June 22nd - August 3, 2008) The Pentecost Python men's softball team will take the diamond for it's third season during the summer of 2008. The Pythons finished their 2007 season with a 3-4 record, including a three game winning streak -- a modern era franchise best! We may even play our season opener under the lights on a Friday night. We are tentatively scheduled to play five regular season games and then end the season with the 2nd Annual Python Classic on Sunday, July 27th-- a four team, two game tournament hosted by the Pentecost Pythons. Males high school age and older are welcome to join us on the field and everybody is invited to cheer on the Pythons and visit the Python Pit -- the Python's very affordable concession stand. Games are generally Sunday nights at Gorney Park (7 Mile and Nicholson Roads in Caledonia) at either 5:00 or 6:00 PM. Last year's opponents included St. Paul's Lutheran, St. John's Lutheran, Prince of Peace Lutheran and Community Church of the Nazarene -- the 2007 Python Classic champions. The Pythons lost a well-played double header to St. Paul's Lutheran 11-7 and 14-9 on Sunday, June 22nd and then bounced back to gain their first victory of the season against St. John's Lutheran with a 16-7 win on Sunday, July 29th. Please contact Tom Hasko at either (262) 637-7419 or (414) 828-7365 (cell) with any questions. 7th Annual Neighborhood Block Party (Saturday, August 16, 2008) By far our largest event for the past several years (with the exception of our 100th Anniversary Celebration this year), plans for the 7th Annual Neighborhood Block Party are currently being made. The Block Party is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 16th -- a date which will be finalized during the month of May. The success of this event over the past six years has been largely the result of contributions from several of our Community Partner businesses and organizations as well as the countless hours of planning and volunteer time that our friends and members have contributed. Thank You for helping make this event such a huge success for the past six years!
