Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  We welcome you and thank you for checking out our church website.  We hope you find this site informative and uplifting and that you come back often to check out what’s going on at Pentecost!

Our church was founded on May 31, 1908, which was Pentecost Sunday that year.  Accordingly, our very first members chose the name “Soslaine Ducha Svateho,” which translated means “Descending of the Holy Spirit” or “Pentecost.” The original members of Pentecost were Slovak immigrants who wanted a church which spoke their native language.  In 1920, the congregation joined the Slovak Evangelical Lutheran Synod (later named Synod of Evangelical Lutheran Churches) and remained there until merging with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in 1971 as part of a non-geographical district known as the S.E.L.C. (Showing Everyone Life in Christ by Showing Everyone the Love of Christ)

Our church mission statement says a lot about who we are and what we do…

As forgiven children of God, we, the Pentecost family of faith, are committed to showing everyone life in Christ by…

Providing individuals opportunities to grow in their faith
Living our Faith and worshiping together as brothers and sisters in Christ
Calling others in our community and the world through the Holy Spirit into a personal relationship with God.

As for me, I am the thirteenth pastor to have served here Pentecost Lutheran Church as I was installed in July of 2008.  I feel so blessed to be here with such a friendly and loving congregation and I can only encourage you to come check us out for yourselves.  Please join us for worship on either Saturday evenings at 5 pm or on Sunday morning at 9 am for worship.  Our Saturday evening service is a non-traditional service which is led by our talented praise team while our Sunday morning service is more traditional.
