Children's Message

Sharon Boehme, Pastor Biber and Joyce Hasko share God's Word on a rotating basis during the Children's Message, shared each week as part of the regular worship service.

Many Sundays have seen Pastor Biber sitting on the floor in front of the altar with the children as he explains his children's message to them.  At almost every regular Sunday worship service, a children's message is presented by either Pastor Biber or one of our Sunday school teachers as part of the regular worship service.   The children's message provides a message in simple terms which is able to be understood by even the youngest minds, yet delivers a meaningful and powerful message to the entire congregation.  During our Independence Day worship service, a children's message served as the sermon, and helped the entire congregation learn about the SELC Anniversary Banner, the American Flag and The Christian Flag - our "Flags of Freedom."  The children's message helps to show our youth that they are important in God's eyes, as well as in the eyes of our own congregation. It also gives the even our youngest members a chance to be involved in the worship service.  As part of this involvement, the children recently have been encouraged to bring their offerings up with them during the children's message and place their own offerings in the offering plate laid out on the floor where they sit and listen to the children's message.  Many times, the children leave the message with a small token or trinket  intended to help them remember the meaning of the message they have just heard.

Pastor Biber talks about the meaning behind the SELC Anniversay Banner, the American Flag and the Christian Flag during a combination children's message and sermon during the Independence Day service.
